And we go on through the list of names. We can get him to repeat these words for a while. Eventually Papou ends up as Bubble, one of his favorite things, next to Balls.
Bubbles were instrumental in getting Jasper back into the bathtub without me. Now, when he sees the tub, he says Bubble and tries to climb in. He will play with the bubbles until they all disappear. He's even sang a song about bubbles. Yup, Jasper loves to sing. I've got it on video. It's so darn cute. He sings a daddy song too.
He loves music a lot. He dances and sings, and plays the drum. The other day when Nonny was here, she played the drum for him and he danced and played the bells. A fews days after this event, he picked up the bells and began to drum with them and sing at the same time.
New words include: Wind, Cup, Up, Down, Wall, Weee, Bee, Walk, Rock, Straw (as in to drink from) and NO!!. He also says popcorn and popsicle, but I can't remember well enough how he says those two to spell them phonetically. He says "bi-bi" for boo-boo. Swing sounds like "wing." Two days ago he used two words together for the first time and said, "Hi Mommy." He knows that the cow says moo and the sheep says baa baa. He can cluck and crow like a chicken and rooster.
For a boy, I think he's been relatively spared some of the ugly boo-boos that seem to come with boys...though he has the rest of his life to get hurt. He learned the word for boo-boo because he skinned his knee while playing and one of the kids at daycare kept pointing at his knee and stating that he had a boo-boo. Jasper had not paid any attention to the minor scrape before, and now was very interested in it. It's taken a long time to heal because he picked at it. I actually got very worried and took him to the Doctor to be sure it was healing properly. He's fallen on gravel a couple of times and broke skin on his head. He cut his lip and it was a bloody mess, but healed fine. These things are nothing to worry about.
I am worried about his scrotum, however. He has a lump that appears on the right side when his testicles are hanging low. My pediatrician is sending us to a urologist, whom we will see today. He had an ultrasound on Monday. Well, we saw the Urologist who said that it's most likely a cyst, but that we had 2 options: exploratory surgery which would ultimately discover exactly what it is and correct it or get a 2nd opinion.
