Other cute things: When something is hot he says, "haw, haw, haw!" and waves his hands. Yesterday while Nick was taking care of him he did this to his eggs and then leaned in and blew on them. When we try to put him down and he doesn't want to be down, he lifts his legs up so they are parallel to the ground. Amazing abs! He says bellybutton ("ton") and points to his stomach when asked where his is. When he sees ours, he puts his finger inside and says, "ton" as well. He has also started to "draw." He picked up a pencil and made marked on the table, so I quickly gave him paper. He drew on that for a second and many of his lines ended back on the table. I later watched a friend's son who is 3 mos older, color with crayons on a smaller piece of paper. He dumped the crayons out of the box and chose colors to scribble with, all within the parameters of the tiny paper - I'm looking forward to that! So cute.
Last night after his bath he seemed tired, he was whiney and unsatisfied. I hadn't put his PJs on, but he wanted to nurse so we cuddled up. I used my foot and leg to scoot a blanket over to us, the small knitted one my mom made for him, and covered him with it. He didn't fall asleep, but finished nursing then sat up and proceeded to play peek-a-boo with his blanket. It seemed like he'd go on forever, he was cracking himself up.
He seems to say kitty cat and meow as well as dog and "uf uf" - which is very clear. When he hears the dogs next door barking - an annoyance to me, because it's all the time - he'll point and say, "daw" or something like that, and then "uf, uf."
Now that he's walking, he spends a lot of time doing so in circles around the house. He loves to follow the kitties around too. He's very cuddly with them, when they let him. Yesterday was a beautiful day, so Nick opened the front door and side door on our porch and blocked the stairs. When I came home, Jasper was still enjoying his freedom to go in and out of the house, up and down the little step, around and around. We are going to build a gate for the porch. We are going to have to get Jasper a leash!
He's still working on his molars, the top two are continuing to work their way through and he's been in pain. He's got a little cold as a result and doesn't want to eat to much (except for nursing.) The entire surface of the bottom two has pushed through.
It's a rainy day. Jasper is sleep-nursing as I type. Morning naps are shorter than the afternoon ones these days. Better finish my homework...
